Probation
The Center for Creative Justice probation
program offers the Story County and city of Ames justice communities
sentencing alternatives for adults. Through probation supervision, our
clients recognize the need for meaningful consequences and are
reintegrated into the community as quickly and as effectively as
possible.
Supervision is completed at all levels of
crime, simple misdemeanors through felonies, by both staff and trained
community volunteers. The probation supervisor provides an extra value
for our clients-a community based perspective and the ability to coach
closely one-on-one.
Probation supervisors oversee and emphasize
completion of court ordered conditions of probation. Probation also
provides an atmosphere where our clients are held responsible for past
choices and given an opportunity to explore better options and choices
for their future.
Probation allows offenders to remain in the
community and continue as contributing members through work, school,
family and church. Clients make restitution to their victims, engage in
community service, and complete classes/programs deemed important to
their successful reintegration to the community.
