CCJ Receives Computer Grant from Story County Community Foundation

CCJ has received a grant from the Story County Community Foundation (SCCF) in the amount of $1,582.00. This grant will allow CCJ to purchase (2) computers and monitors. This is the third consecutive year that CCJ has been awarded a technology grant by the SCCF. This purchase was critical to the agency, as CCJ's caseload has increased approximately 74% in the last two years. This also allows an upgrade to the agency's client employment workstation. This workstation allows clients to search for employment and compose resumes, cover letters, etc.

The Story County Community Foundation has two primary functions: to receive, manage, and distribute funds made available by the Iowa County Endowment Fund legislation for the benefit of Story County communities and organizations, and to provide a means for donors to make gifts that address the challenges and issues confronting Story County communities and organizations now and in the future. Volunteer of the Year 2009

Edna Clinton

The Center for Creative Justice recently held its third annual volunteer appreciation dinner to honor our volunteers and to recognize their valuable contributions. Like many non-profit organizations, our volunteers are critical to our success. CCJ's volunteers contributed over 1,300 hours of service in the past year. The financial equivalent of their contribution is estimated at over $19,500. I would like to recognize Edna Clinton, CCJ's Volunteer of the year. Ms. Clinton has been very active in and around the Ames community for decades. Ms. Clinton joined CCJ as a Board Member in 2003. Ms. Clinton served as President of the Board of Directors, member of the Executive Committee, and has been a Volunteer Probation Officer. She has also been very active in our agency's fund-raising activities.

"It is my opinion that the Center for Creative Justice does an exemplary job in changing our community one life at a time. We do this by providing professional supervision, counseling and compassionate understanding to individuals in completing their probationary requirements."
